Part of the Polar RS (running) Series, which is designed for runners, the Polar RS300x has:

Wireless heart-rate monitor (chest strap wirelessly transmits your heart-rate to the watch)
5 Target zones (You set 5 high and low points, and the watch will warn you with sound and flashing if you fall outside those zones)
Time-in-zone (At the completion of your session, the watch will tell you how much of your session was within your designated zone - plus the average and maximum levels)

Own Zone (it suggests your optimal target zone for you)
% Max HR (The watch display both your nominal heart-rate as you exercise, such as "150bpm", and a percentage of your suggested maximum heart-rate, such as "95%")
Watch (time of day - yep, heaps of people wear these are their every-day watches, myself included!)
Timer (shows time elapsed in an exercise session)
99-lap memory (where a "lap" can be any repetitive exercise you can dream up)
Alarm (a "pick up the kids" or "time for that date" alarm - nothing to do with heart-rate)
Light (very cool - not just illuminated when you hit the button, but also when you move the watch within close proximity to the chest strap)
Own Code (the chest-strap is coded, so there're no interference with other nearby heart-rate monitors)
Calorie counter (plus % fat)
VO2 Fitness Test (mimicking the industry-standard "oxygen absorption test", this test will provide the user with a quantifiable measure of their fitness, just like standing on scales will give you a numerical weight - each time you take the test, you can watch your fitness rise or fall)
16-day exercise diary (Remembers the last 16 exercise sessions)
Wear-Link transmitter (the unit ships with the comfortable and interchangeable "wearlink” chest transmitter")
Water resistant to 50m (I wear mine in the pool, the surf, the shower, etc.)

PC-connectivity can be achieved with the optional Polar Flow Link unit.

Compatible with the Polar G1 GPS Sensor, and S1 Footpod (normally you would use one or the other, since they both give you speed and pace measurement). Please note, the speed and pace functions do not work without these "optional extras".
