looking at the york epic front drive Elliptical, is it plugged into the mains power? do you get a satifactory workout? how does it compare to the commercial versions at the gyms.

Yes, the York Epic elliptical uses mains power. It is a similar motion to what you would use at the gym, but definitely not as solid and the stride length is smaller. To mimic the gym experience you would need to spend over $1000 at retail. The gym machines cost around $5000, so you can imagine it's a different league.
